Dr. Philip Newman

Dr. Newman has been a board certified Ophthalmologist for more than 30 years. He is actively involved with Rockdale Medical Center and has served as Chief of Medical Staff, Treasurer and Chief of the Department of Surgery. Dr. Newman is now also affiliated with Piedmont Hospital. You can find Dr. Newman in the 2016 Atlanta Magazine featured as a Castle Connolly's Top Doctor.

More Than A Quarter Century of Sight

Dr. Newman received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia/ Virginia Commonwealth University. After a medical internship at SUNY Stony Brook VA Medical Center in New York, he returned to the Medical College of Virginia to complete his residency in Ophthalmology. His specialty training in corneal and external diseases was completed at the prestigious Proctor Foundation at the University of California, San Francisco, and at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Newman is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and is a member of the following:

Dr. Newman enjoys practicing aikido, watching science fiction shows and fishing. He lives with his wife Donna in Atlanta.
