Dr. Peter Gordon
Dr. Peter Gordon received his medical degree from Emory University. He completed an internship at Grady Memorial Hospital and a residency in ophthalmology at the Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. He then completed a fellowship in cataract surgery at The Miami Eye Foundation with association at the Bascom Palmer Eye lnstitute, a division of the University of Miami.
Dr. Gordon is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Piedmont Clinic. Dr. Gordon has served as a past president of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, the Dekalb Medical Society, and was previously on the board of Dekalb Regional Health Systems now part of Emory Dekalb Hospital. He participated in the Leadership Development Program of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and was an Alumni Board Member of the Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gordon practiced for over 30 years with Eye Physicians and Surgeons and served as president for the majority of those years. He retired from Eye Physicians and Surgeons in December, 2018. However, he held a desire to return to medicine on a part time basis and has worked at The Center for Sight in since May,2021 practicing medical ophthalmology.
Dr. Gordon enjoys swimming, weight training, and was an avid cyclist. He completed two Half lronman competitions in 2018 and 2019. He lives with his wife, Norma, and enjoys spending time with his adult children and four grandchildren, all of whom live in Atlanta.
